About Us
Walla Walla Gleaners is a group dedicated to working in partnership with farmers and individuals to promote the reclaiming of produce that would otherwise be left in fields or orchards, discarded, or end up in landfills.
Our goal is to cooperate with local farmers and individuals to glean, receive, and distribute fresh produce to members and others in need, without regard to ethnicity, gender, age, or income. We seek to provide opportunity for the active involvement of all members to:
- Gain access to fresh, nutritious, local food
- Reduce dependency on food banks
- Build a strong local and regional food system
- Create a network of volunteers who respect and help each other
- Share fresh produce with local food banks and hot meal centers
